Mangalore: Sahil Bava Teekay to Captain State Basketball Team

Mangalore, Sep 16: It is not often that we hear of young Mangaloreans making their mark in sports at the top level, but here's a boy of 13 years who has been chosen to lead Karnataka in basketball.
Sahil Bava Teekay, a native of Bajpe near here, has been selected to represent the state in the 38th national basketball championship being held at Lucknow from September 16 to 23.
He will captain Karnataka State sub-junior basketball team this year.
This is for the second consecutive year that Sahil has been selected to represent the state.
Sahil, son of Asif Usman Teekay and Dr Zakira Usman Teekay, presently resides at Bangalore with his parents. He is an eighth standard student of National Public School, Indiranagar, Bangalore.
