Dear Friends,
As we celebrate Mother's Day on the 13th of May, it is time for all of us to love, honour and cherish not only our own Mother but every mother all over the world – especially whose are alone and lonely, stressed and depressed, those who have lost a child, those whose children have left home, for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty, and also for those who struggle the balance tasks of work and family.
Abraham Lincoln pays a rich tribute to his mother by saying " I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life."
On this special day we have tributes from the children of two Mothers – Shamien Nazareth from Canada and Maria Joseph Andrade from Bahrain.
 Shamien Nazareth
Says Joanne Nazareth aged 19 yrs (d/o Dr. Mark and Shamien Nazareth) shares her feelings for her dear mother on behalf of her siblings Carl and Linda.
"A mother is the best kind of lover, and the only one you can genuinely rely on to do it unconditionally. One perspective of the meaning of life could be seen in the bond between a mother and her child. If the world reflected this bond and everyone shared this love with one another, then harmony and a blissful state would be enjoyed by all. This love is true, nurturing, caring, passionate, gentle, patient, natural, and all encompassing. All these wonderful and beautiful characteristics are possessed by my mother, and I cherish and treasure her for them. Happy mothers day to my mother, and all the other mothers, who create life and apply meaning, and love to it.
 Maria Andrade
Samantha Andrade (d/o Joseph and Maria Andrade of Bahrain) also aged 19 years shares her thoughts on what Mother means to her
"The best gift anyone could ever have, is a mother. Happiness, sorrow, anxiety, grief and sacrifice - she bears it all and emerges triumphant. This is why a mother is the truest essence of womanhood.
'Mamma' - the word spells love, spells affection, spells over protectiveness and plenty of sacrifices. The word itself stirs up emotion and even the most beautiful expression would not befittingly describe the wonderful woman called by this name.
Your Mama could be any woman, but when she considers you her own, you mean the whole world to her. She shares your joys, sorrows and stands by you till the very end. She is the epitome of true bondage, true love. When it comes to her own child, the heart takes precedence over the mind and she pours out her heart to you. Who else would?
My mother is my own and only precious pearl"
