Dear Friends,

We often hear the common saying “Man proposes but God disposes” but how true it is – we only realize when we have stark incidents to prove it.  The recent death of a young lively and vivacious 23 year old newly married bride  Nirmala Sequeira fought a losing battle with death and finally succumbed to it leaving behind her loved ones to mourn her loss.

Some things are really beyond our control but can we always blame “fate” or “destiny” or “ill luck” for those who are believers of idols and magic charms?? All of us have a moral responsibility over our lives and we cannot just let our life roll by or tide away – we have to plan to live it in a planned manner.

There is a good anecdote  of two women planning a “well planned life”.
These two  women met for the first time since graduating from high school.
One asked the other, "You were always so organized in school,
Did you manage to live a well planned life? "
" Yes," said her friend.
"My first marriage was to a millionaire;
my second marriage was to an actor;
my third marriage was to a preacher;
and now I'm married to an undertaker."
Her friend asked,
"What do those marriages have to do with a well planned life?"
"One for the money,
two for the show,
three to get ready,
and four to go.
Well that was in lighter vein – but surely the women had great plans of their lives.

Women Vision bring to you a well known lady in the community circle – Dulcine Sequeira. She has created a niche for herself with her numerous achievements especially RAJ SERVICES – a match making organization which has been instrumental in bringing together many single boys and girls in search of their life partners. Apart from retiring as a teacher for a good number of years, she is an active church volunteer, social service worker, singer, musician and much more.

Dulcine Sequeira  was born on June 7, 1938 and did her early schooling at St. Joseph’s and later at the Sacred Heart School in Kulshekar . She did her Teachers training at the Rosa Mystica training school and after passing out she spent 4 years teaching at the Holy Family School in Kumble.

In 1959, she married Xavier Sequeira and had 3 children – Stephen (married to Belmeira and are settled in Kuwait with their two kids), Maria who unfortunately is no more, and the youngest Merwyn Rajesh (popularly called “aiport  rajesh!!) married to Preethi and are settled in Dubai with their two lovely daughters.

In  the year 1963 Dulcine  began teaching at the Guardian Angels school in Angelore and  retired in 1999 after having completed uninterrupted service of over 33 years in the same school. A keen lover of music and sports, she has a large number of awards to her credit – a true testimony of her sporting spirit and musical abilities. She was responsible for initiating a Poor Children Fund in the school.

Teaching was her bread and butter but apart from that she had a long of talents and achievements. She was in the Church choir in the Holy Cross Church.

1990-91, she was awarded the Best Enumerator Award by the Government of India  in the general census.

In 1993 she  won the best teacher District Level and in 1966 she won the best teacher award state level. She was also selected for the President’s award but gave way for another teacher to gain the credit.

She has the distinction of being the only lady to have started the life of Jesus in Hairkatha form (verse of singing)
