Dear Friends, It is a matter of pride to see the Headlines in the daily Newspapers these days. In the recent CBSE examinationsheld in the UAE, it is really noteworthy to read that the Girls outshine the Boys!!! and this is not only here but also in India and elsewhere.
Our young women are making a great and positive stride and it is a mark in today's competitive world. It only proves that girls are equally talented and capable and if they put in the efforts - they are sure to succeed. Just sitting still and wishing, does not make any of us great, it is the diligence, the perseverance the will to achieve, that helps us reach our goal.
Claudia Vas, of Indian High School. Dubai and we are proud to say that she is a Konkani speaking person, has topped the CBSE exams with such stunning marks. She is so focussed and determined in her vision and has achieved her mission. We salute Claudia on her superbly brilliant performance and wish her every luck in her career ahead. Before her marriage, she was a teacher at the St. Ann's High School Mangalore and later a Lecturer at the teacher's Training College (Nossa Senora da Piadade at Goa). Apart from her teaching skills, Celine Pereira is a very staunch woman activist. She is deeply involved in the upliftment and empowerment of women especially at the grassroot levels and this compelled her to be on the honorary and distinguished posts in various associations like the:
- Shubadha Society in Mangalore, an NGO dedicated to the welfare of distressed women , - Ex President of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, which is a very strong body to help the Catholic women to come into the limelight through awareness programmes, - Secretary of the Ladies Social Service League, Urva, - Ex Member of the Urva Church Parish Council and - Past member of the Pastoral Council, - Ex Vice President of the MCC(Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank), Mangalore, - Ex President of the Aubrey D'Souza Charitable Foundation. - Ex President of the Old Students Association of Ladyhill School Urva, Mangalore etc. The list of her involvement in various honorary social service Organisations is endless but due to her recent illness of Cancer, she has been compelled to slow down her social activities. Yet that does not deter her from her mission in life - to help Wo
