A very popular figure not only in Mangalore, but all over the world she is the versatile  Ranjani Suresh. Her long list of accomplishments, which adds to her aristocratic lineage is a testimony of her greatness. Gracious in her ways, simple and down to earth by nature, Ranjani Suresh is a much loved person not only in the field of music and poetry but  compering, radio hosting etc.

Ranjani Suresh is the daughter of the Late P, Sadashiva Rao and Anandi Rao, who is a well known writer, poetess and Social worker of Mangalore. Surely one could say that Ranjini has inherited these wonderful qualities from her great mother who has done a lot for the society especially the women by being a founder member of the Mahila Sabha Mangalore. Her grandfather the late S. Narsappayya was a leading Lawyer, Corporater, Founder of Janatha Bazaar, and a member of the Legislature Council of Madras and Karnataka.

Married to Suresh Kukkilaya, a chartered Accountant presently working in Dubai, they are blessed with a daughter Rahsmi who is married and settled in USA and son Vignesh who is also in Dubai.

Ranjani is a product of the St. Agnes College in Mangalore.  She is an accomplished Musician and has been an A.I.R. artiste of Mangalore. She has contributed several devotional song cassettes  and has given more than 250 stage performances in and around Karnataka and the USA at the Rajyothsova celebrations of the Kannada Sangha in California. She is well versed in the Geetha, Patriotic and Hindi bhajans and has performed at important functions like the Karavali Utsav, Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, Maha Masthkabisheka etc.

In the Literary field, she was the convenor of the Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishath and has organized various programmes and Utsavas to promote Kannada literature and language. She has compiled a Kannada poetry book “ Sangam” which  contains the various poetry by lady poets. She has been a contributor of articles to leading papers and journals like the Vijaya Karnataka Hosa digantha, Hridhaya Vahini and Yuga purusha. Her collection of poems has been brought out in the form of book named “Preethigagi”.

She is a versatile newsreader for the  City cable and presently is the programme coordinator for the Master Show. She has anchored quiz programmes, scripted and directed 3 documentaries for the Srinvasa Catering College, Physiotherapy and Business Management Colleges.

Her role to women development definitely is limitless – she was the past president of the Lioness Club of Mangalore, Executive Committee member of Mahila Sabhha, Member of Chethana Literary Group and other associations in Mangalore. In Dubai she is an active member of the Dubai Kannada Sangha and the Tulu Okkuta.
