Krystal Abigail Pereira, an ex-student of St. Joseph’s High School in Abu Dhabi, UAE was recently awarded the All India Merit for Economics at a function held in the school on 26th January 2005.
Krystal, who scored 97% in Economics, was among the top 0.1 % of successful candidates from Std. XII to receive this award. In June 2004, she secured the first place with 84% in the Commerce Stream at St. Joseph’s High School. She also received certificates of merit from the school for securing the first place in the CBSE Board examinations for Economics and Business Studies.
In 2002, she secured the first place in St. Joseph’s High School with 89% for the Std. X CBSE Board exams. She was also awarded general proficiency certificates from the school for the Std. IX and Std. XI Board examinations. She has received certificates of merit for winning in school debates, essay writing, elocution and talent competitions.
Besides her academic achievements, Krystal was also actively involved in other extra-curricular activities. She was the cultural secretary and a member of the editorial board for the annual school magazine. She would assist in school functions, choreograph dances and take part in school plays.
Krystal represented her school in the Britannia Global Quiz, The Best of the Best National Solo Vocal Competition and The Inter School Group Music Competition. She has won awards for being a topper in the Arab Regional Essay Competition and The Arab Regional Painting Competition. In 2004, she passed her Grade 8 Piano exam from the Royal Schools of Music.
Krystal is currently studying at University of Toronto, St. George Campus in Toronto, Canada. Although a Mangalorean, she was born and brought up in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Her parents are Arun & Felcy Pereira and she has a younger sister, Amanda. |
