If you are a believer in astrology, chances are you have already consulted famed astrologer Ashok Purohit or at least cherish a hope of doing so.

Ashok had stunned the Cyprus citizens by correctly predicting snowfall in May, a month otherwise characterized by hot, sunny weather. The occasion was an event called the Indian Food Festival, organized by Mumbaikar Rudy Crasto in association with Gulf Air. A story goes that while traveling to Mumbai, he was sitting next to a person who claimed himself to be a cloth merchant. A natural curiosity at learning Ashok profession led his fellow passenger to have his future predicted. One look at the person’s jathaka told Ashok that the person was in fact a goldsmith and not a merchant. Highly impressed, the man, whose name was Shet, invited him to his house and later with the help of his friend Srinivas he was able to put the name of Ashok Purohit in the ears of Mangaloreans, Maharashtrians and people from all over India including celebrities.

His clients’ list is impressive – from the late Dr Rajkumar to other Sandalwood stars like Guru Kiran, Bhavya, Sachin Suvarna, director Nanjundi and others, more than 90 per cent of hoteliers and members belonging to communities such as Billawas and Devadigas regularly seek his advice on Vaastu, jathaka and other issues.
