Mangalore: Fernandes Academy Inaugurated

Mangalore, Sep 3: ‘Fernandes Academy’, a unit of Fernandes Group was inaugurated at Metro Plaza, Above Axis bank, opposite to More Super Market, Valencia on Monday September 3.

The new firm was inaugurated by N Yogish Bhat, deputy speaker of Vidhan Sabha. Gulzar Banu, mayor, was the chief guest. Dr Ravi Santosh Kamath SJ and Fr Richard Coelho blessed the occasion.

Ramanath Rai, president, DK congress committe, Shrikhar Prabhu, president, BJP Mangalore South, Dr Mohan Alva, director, Alvas Institute, Ivan D’Souza, secretary, KPCC, Suresh Ballal, member, KPCC, Mithun Rai, president, youth congress and Rohan Monteiro, director, Property Infratech India Pvt Ltd were the guests of honour.

The firm was inaugurated by lighting a lamp and cutting the ribbon by the dignitaries. The website was launched by Dr Mohan Alva.

Speaking after the inauguration, Yogish Bhat said, “Mangalore city is developing at a rapid rate and if such academies come up, people of Mangalore can dwell in any other part of the world.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr Mohan Alva said, “Karnataka is the only place in world to have more than 600 nursing schools. There is a huge demand for nursing; hence there is a need to increase such academies.”
