AN APPEAL

Honavar is a serene place, often considered therapeutic to individuals suffering from physical and mental pain. Amidst this therapeutic setting is our St. Ignatius hospital. It was established on November 15th, 1978 by the Missionary Sisters of the Queen of the Apostles Congregation and has been meeting the health needs of people of Honavar and neighboring talukas. The building designed and medical departments introduced 32 years back, are not in a position to meet the health needs of the modern ruralites. The old structure which is a tiled roof building has also been damaged due to heavy rainfall resulting in constant leakage. The building also therefore stands vulnerable to natural calamities.

OUR MOVE

Considering this fact as well as the repeated request made by the patients & suggestions expressed by the well wishers like you…the management took a positive bold step to put up a new building to provide advanced medical services in the specialized fields of General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Cardiology, Surgery etc., with introduction of modern medical equipment and infrastructural facilities.  Through this we hope to enable people to save time and money on traveling to higher medical centres located in distance places.

THE SITUATION 

The construction work was initiated in 2008 with an estimated budget of Rs. Two Crores. But due to global financial crisis the project was delayed by four years and at the same time cost of building raw materials like cement, sand, steel, gravel, stones, labour etc. hiked rapidly.

THE NEED 

This prolonged gap in completing the project made us to include further facilities and in the bargain the project cost increased by an additional amount of Rs. One Crore and twenty five lakhs.  Now, as we are nearing the deadline for completion of the hospital construction, we have been forced to shoulder the responsibility of mobilizing this huge deficit amount.

OUR REQUEST 

Hence the hospital team is here to seek your financial support, without which we know it will be definitely difficult to complete the project. Moreover, most of our patients find it hard even to pay for their medical needs because of which we are not in a position to place our petition before them. Kindly come forward to our help and select any of the items mentioned in the next page. Your contribution will be humbly accepted and utilized for this noble cause. Donors with contributions above Rs. 25,000/- will be felicitated on the inaugural function of the building and your name or that of your family or association will be engraved on marble.
