Holy Spirit Home ( a home for the senior citizens) had its humble beginning in the annex section of the Covent of the Holy Spirit, Bangalore in the year 2002.  It is an apostolate taken up by the Missionary Sisters  Servants of the Holy Spirit Bangalore and at present the Home is located in a peaceful and quiet piece of land in the campus of the Holy Spirit Convent on Banerghatta Road. The Home is compact, beautiful and planned economically – to take care of the purse as well as to satisfy the needs of the elderly, heart and person.  The Home provides rooms of different categories – single, double and dormitories with baths attached.

The Holy Spirit Sisters following the charism of the Founder St. Arnold Janssen feel the call to move out of the familiar and traditional services, to serve the needs of the present day marginalized groups– the physically and mentally handicapped, the street children, the sick, the AIDS victims, the Aged and the inform.

Through the motto, “May the Holy Triune God live in our Hearts and in the Hearts of all the People” the sisters by their loving and dedicated service and life giving relationship endeavour to make known the saving love of the Holy Triune God.

St. Arnold Janssen, a man of deep prayer and profound faith founded the three Congregations – Society of the Divine Word missionaries, Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.  He was captivated by the Divine Word made flesh which left him in awe and adoration before this miracle of love. A mystery that Arnold especially venerated was the indwelling of the Trinity in the Heart of Jesus and in every human heart.  This awareness of the Triune God dwelling in every person makes real for today’s world, the missionary charism of Arnold Janssen.  In sharing the vision of Arnold Janssen the Holy Spirit Sisters generously extend their loving service to women, children, the sick and to all those who need love and care, irrespective of caste, colour, race, religion or language.

Holy Spirit which was inaugurated this year in 2006 has the capacity for 30 inmates and are being already flooded with so many applications.

Lindsay Rego, a senior ranking retired Government official and his wife Patsy who have recently been admitted to the home say “There is no better place that we could be in – closer to God, peaceful and loving environment, good food, and above all the caring touch of the sisters who are so attentive to our every need”  Says Patsy Rego “It surely feels like being in Heaven here – safe, secure and engulfed with the loving care of the gentle sisters who are indeed like guardian angels”.
