Recipes - Chickpeas Laddu

Ingredients

¾ cup black chickpeas
¾ cup powdered jaggery ( sticky)
3 tbsp. black sesame seeds
2 tbsp. pea nuts
2 tbsp. broken cashew nuts
1 cup puffed broken paddy / Pori/ Layo 
½ tsp. cardamom powder

Method:

Dry roast chickpeas and powder and set aside.  Tap gently and discard the coarse husk.  Dry roast the pea nuts and remove the skin.  Dry roast sesame and cashew nuts as well.  

Take jaggery in a thick bottomed vessel with 3 – 4 tbsp. of water.  Boil it and bring to a single thread consistency.   Add the chickpea powder and all the roasted ingredients along with cardamom powder.  Add puffed broken paddy and adjust the consistency.  Mould laddus while the mixture is warm and roll over puffed broken paddy.
