Fr Denis Noronha (86), retired priest of Mysuru diocese, son of the late Louis and the late Maria Noronha of Gargal in Belloor, Bantwal, brother of the late Benedicta Rodrigues (Kowdoor-Kaikamba), the late Evarist (Belloor), Sr Maria (née Valerine, Mysuru), the late Henry (Bengaluru), Celine Fernandes (Kalmady-Malpe), Sr Jovita (née Delphine, Bengaluru), the late Stanley (Bengaluru), Alice D'Souza (Bengaluru) and Matilda Lasrado (Bendur, Mangaluru), passed away in St Joseph Hospital, Mysuru on Monday, July 16, 2018.

Funeral Mass will be held in St Philomena (now known as St Joseph) Cathedral, Mysuru at 10.30 am on Tuesday, July 17, followed by interment in the cemetery.

During his long years of dedicated and selfless service to the Church, community and society, he had served as secretary to the Bishop of Mysuru, Procurator of the diocese, and as parish priest at Mysuru Cathedral, Mandya, Somwarpet, Suntikoppa, besides holding many responsibilities.

He was instrumental in founding a number of educational institutions wherever he served in Mysore Diocese.

Fr. Denis Noronha I remember first time meeting at NBCLC . He would visit Guruji Amalor many times regarding the Chair in Christianity which was instituted in the University of Mysore 2nd July 1979 inaugurated. Bishop Mathias and Fr. Denis and the diocese of Mysore was instrumental in this endevour. Fr. Denis was running up and down Mysore and Bangalore to request Guruji to take up the leadership of being Visiting Professor. When the Ashram started in 1979 in Mysore he was also our society member till 1988. A smiling and jovial priest. Our sisters who were members of the Ashram at Jayalakshmipuram 1979 to 1983 are very grateful to him for his masses in the Ashram whenever Guruji was out and his kind and loving gestures to all the inmates. Even when Guruji passed away in a car accident he came here to help us in the preparation for the final journey of Guruji the funeral. As we were all shocked and broken with the sudden accidental passing away of Guruji it is he who together with Bishop Michaelappa arranged for the shamiana and all other things and guided us wisely in our moment of sorrow. Anjali Ashram remembers him with love and gratitude as he has gone to the Lord. Both Guruji and Fr. Denis were together in St. Peter's Seminary and born 1932 only some 40 days younger to Guruji. May they both share together the bliss of the Lord in heaven.

My Papa's loving brother Fr. Denis Norohna...... Left us for ever in this world. However, in these moments of loss, words are useless. God rest his soul in peace and the angels to always be there with you.
Beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven away from us, but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness. Words cannot describe what I am feeling, I give my condolences to the entire family of Late Mr. Louis Noronha Family Bellore.
As I am a small composer, I will compose beautiful song for my beloved uncle Fr. Denis Noronha as he served many needy during his career.
This song as a memorable ever and I am dedicating for him as he is lovely BAPPU. I will sing ....in my upcoming show "LANCY NITE"
