Michael D'Souza (84), son of the late Leo D’Souza and the late Lucy Periera, husband of Mariette Abati, father of Collette / Arnaud Thomas, Indira / Patrick Lecaude and Christopher / Pariyanud, grandfather to Lawrence, Joshua & Oriane, brother of the late Mavis Medina, the late Merwin D’Souza, the late Richard D’Souza and the late Mabel D’Souza, passed away on October 21, 2020.

Condolences to the family on the demise of Uncle Mickey. It was my good fortune to be associated with him while he painstakingly authored the Alva genealogy book which was also published in daijiworld (link here https://www.daijiworld.com/news/newsDisplay.aspx?newsID=533712), which took about more than 10 years in research alone. He traveled all the way to Mangalore just to get the book published and distribute to close family and friends and that is the biggest gift we can pass on to our children; for that my children & the coming Alva generations will be forever grateful and remember his works. He will forever live in our hearts & home and his memories will be cherished forever.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen

Dear all,

I want to thank you all for the condoleances wishes and all the good words your expressed about my father. On behalf of all the family, please accept my sincere and upmost thanks for all your kind words.
Papa, is now buried in Martinique, where we have our central family tomb. It was a difficult situation to do initially as you might be aware that he passed away after contracting the scourge of this year : Covid-19. He already knew, as he expressed it in august that is he ever caught it, he might not survive. The irony is that he probably catch it while going for a medical visit for his pacemaker, as he was very careful not to expose himself unnecessarily.
He was given the last sacrament before he exhale his last breath, and was surrounded by my mum, my sister and myself at this time.
He would be remember as the Man and Father he was by us all. He will be missed and and remembered everyday and I hope you will continue to pray for him, and for us all as we will be praying for you as well.
Again thank you very much for everything. And if you can burn a candle for him from time to time. I would be for ever grateful.
