Sr Irene D'Souza (70) Sisters of Charity, daughter of the late Thomas D'Souza and the late Marceline D'Souza, Guardian Angels' Ward, Angelore Parish, sister of Julian D'Souza (husband of Cecilia D'Souza, Angelore), the late John D'Souza, USA, Stella Jacintha, USA, Edwin D'Souza, USA, Louisa Sequiera, Bangalore, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

Joined Sisters of Charity on 29 June 1972. Served as a teacher in Capitanio School, Infant Mary School - Jeppu and in Teachers' Training Institute (TTI) - Capitanio. Had persued Community Higher Studies in Italy for 2 years. Has immensely contributed in the composition of religious hymns and has trained numerous singers. Spent last decade serving the aged destitutes in Olavina Halli.

Funeral ceremony on Wednesday, June 24 at Guardian Angel's Church, Angelore, Mangalore. Mortal remains will be brought to the church at 3.00 pm. Public viewing till 3.30 pm followed by Mass, under strict Covid 19 precautions.

My association with Sr. Irene is from childhood as neighbour, school mate, family friend and a well wisher.
