Sr Alfonsa D'Silva nee Gracy D'Silva (93), Sisters of Charity, Casa Gaia Convent, Angelore, Mangalore, daughter of the late Casmir and Severine D'Silva (Karkala), sister of the late Leny D'Lima, the late Lilla Fernandes, Hilda D'Souza, Henry, the late Matilda and the late Peter, passed away on June 14, 2019.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 15 at 3.30 pm in Casa Gaia Convent Chapel, followed by burial at Angelore Church, Mangalore.

We knew Sr. Alphonsa as Sr. Gracy my father's Aunt who grew up with him.and went to school with him.at Shirva. We recall Sr. as a kind , gentle and pious nun. My father Wilfred has fond memories of Sister Gracy and every Christmas they would exchange letters till the very end . We will miss Sister Gracy. May her soul Rest in peace .

Sr. Alphonsa D' Silva, served the Secred Heart Convent, run by the Sister's of Charity Congregation at Brahmavar, (extension of Holy Family Roman catholic Church compound) for almost a decade since early 1970's and was Head Sister of Nirmala Primary and Secondary School at Brahmavar. The school has been a top performing school, admitted students of all backgrounds and secured consistent cent-percent annual results and laid strong academic foundation to the success of hundreds of students while she was leading this school. A gentle, kind nature d Sr. Alphonsa D' Silva has served several convents and schools to the benefit of numerous students. Many, including my brother, sisters and me are thankful to her noble service and she will be fondly remembered. May her soul Rest In Peace.
