Dear Konkani Music Lover, in this Konkani online www.daijidubai.com, we proudly herald the introduction of new "Do-Re-Me-Fa" - Konkani Music Column.
The objectives of this special column are to familiarize you with the great Konkani musical legends and renowned artistes who have contributed immensely and enriched the Konkani Music to its present level. It is also our endeavour to bring to light the hidden talents of our budding musical artistes and to encourage them by way of promoting their musical recordings and cassettes. In this elite column, we also try to share the taste of Konkani Music with non-Konkani compeer groups and introduce to them our musical geniuses.
As usual some of our Konkani "critics" may wonder, "why this Konkani Musical Column presented in English?" Well, we very much desire to write this Column in Konkani. But, Konkani scripts have their own limitations and also due to some technical difficulties we present it to you in English. Moreover our youngsters who are not familiar with the Indian language scripts, our Goan brothers and sisters who are alien to Kannada Script, and the Konkani Diaspora settled in other states and countries who do not have a Konkani background but still relish the Konkani music, we feel English is the language best suited for the purpose.
In this and in the forthcoming series of articles of this 'Do-Re-Me-Fa' column of Konkani online, we proudly highlight to you the profiles and interviews of some of the recent Konkani musicians who have enriched our Konkani music.

Interview with Rev. Fr. Walter Albuquerque 'The White Nightingale'
Rev.Fr.Walter Albuquerque S.J. is a committed Jesuit Priest, a simple and down to earth personality, a great music composer who is renowned as "Dhovi Kogul" (The White Nightingale). Music flows in every vein of his body, mind and soul. His contribution to the Konkani music whether liturgical or social, is worth mentioning. His service as Music teacher and choirmaster in churches, schools & convents in the whole of Mangalore Diocese is commendable and outstanding.
His contribution is enormous not only to Spiritual Hymns but also to Konkani Songs. He was a great inspiration to Konkan's all time great composers like Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus. Few days back I had a great privilege to meet this music legend at St.Aloysius College, Mangalore. I am happy to present our 'konkandaiz' browsers the following highlights of our short and sweet talk:
