"KOGULL GAITHA"
A book of songs by "Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus"

"Kogull Gaitha" (The nightingale sings) is the latest fascinating book of songs from none other than the greatest star of Konkani music world -'Konkan Kogull Wilfy Rebimbus'. Previously Wilfy's hit songs have appeared in 10 parts separately. "Kogull Gaitha" is a comprehensive single collection of songs from Wilfy's Vol. 1 - 33 audio cassettes.
This exclusive book of songs comprises the words of Wilfy's songs from his 33 musical albums cassettewise with a list of songs on each side of the cassette. "Kogull Gaitha" has seen 3 glorious editions and the copies were sold out like hot cakes, within a few months of its publications.
The first edition of the book appeared in January 1995 on the occasion of the 'Wedding Silver Jubilee' Celebrations of Wilfy and Meena. It comprised of 300 songs from 25 cassettes. Within 5 months of its publication all copies were sold out. In the month of September of the same year, a second edition appeared with an addition of 12 more songs from one more cassette. Within 18 months all copies of 2nd edition too were out of the sales desk! Now in the year 2002, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Wilfy, a third edition has been published with nearly 400 songs from 33 audio cassettes of Wilfy. The book consists of 526 pages with an attractive cover page and the inside pages neatly printed by 'A' grade offset printers.
The beauty of this voluminous book is enhanced by the thought provoking preface written by world famous Konkani activist Shri.Austin D'Souza Prabhu, now a resident of U.S.A., who was a renowned playwright, stage actor, and a well known Konkani journalist when he was in Mangalore, India.
"Kogull Gaitha" book is really an invaluable treasure to be possessed and cherished by any Konkani song lover. The topics covered by the songs in his book are really amazing and breath-taking :
· Sun and moon, sky and stars, sea and its shores, hills and valleys, birds and beasts, life and light etc.
· Wilfy has sung of mother's love, father's tensions, youth's romance, children's frolic, marriage etc…
