In this edition, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to 11-year old Annlynn Fernandes. Annlynn is a sixth grader from Edison Middle School in New Jersey in the U.S. Her dad Antony originally hails from Thottam in Udupi and Mum Jyothi is originally from Barkur, also Udupi Taluk. The family is now settled in the U.S
We publish a poem from Annlynn which is about her little sister Jennifer who turns three on March 14. Advance birthday wishes to you dear Jennifer from all of us. Annlynn also has another sister called Anika.
Annlynn loves reading, listening to music, watching television, swimming, cooking, and of course, writing poetry.
Well done Annlynn, I am sure you will inspire many of our young readers to write poems.

Jennifer...

by Annlynn Fernandes
She's my little sister More joyful than the rise of the morning sun and each second I don't spend with her, I miss her Cute and cuddly, her cheeks fatter than hamburger buns Her name is Jennifer Her laughs are the best But she's an everyday pest And when I try to lull her to sleep, She makes some noise before sleeping without a peep A sad tear rolls down from my eyes as I watch her peaceful eyes close She makes the best sounds She's a fun lunatic with no bounds And as I watch her grow up, everytime she gets cuter than a teacup She's my buddy, my best friend, my pal, my adorable sister Jennifer
