Every now and then we hear about tragic accidents on this Highway mainly between mangalore and Karwar as this passes thru main towns, governemnt should seriously think of widening of this Highway with a median, this will certainly bring down fatal accidents.

What happened last night near Byndoor was beyond anybody's imagination, in that five members belonged to one family, it is impossible to understand the grief of the berieved family. May Almight rest all the souls in peace and give strenght to the berieved families to bear this great loss.

It is very sad. It is hard to believe isn't it? I was so shocked when I heard this at night 9.20 pm.. I was also really sad about that all bhatkalis people in it. It had been in the history of Bhatkal that 11 persons died on spot when the Bangalore Bus collided with Tata Sumo Bhatkal.. its sad to hear such huge number of innocent Bhatkali losing lives! So sad, so sad, its a rememberance for all the bhatkalian by date ZILHAJ 1!! or 19 November 2009!!

I Always blame the government for failing to maintain the road network.Our roads are in bad conditions.This only shows that our bad roads are the main cause of deaths in the country. It is a fact that road accidents have become one of the major killers in the country apart from AIDS, Cancer and Malaria. Road safety experts claim that road accidents in the country claim four lives daily.

It is painful and shocking to loose people who could have helped in the development of the country in these road accidents. Many others have been crippled and incapacitated by these accidents some of which are preventable. Much as I applaud the efforts being made to deal with these accidents, i think there is need to also concentrate on those that are affected by these accidents. May their souls rest in peace. May Allah grant strength to their families who died in the accident. Allah un tammaam ki baal baal magfirath farmaye!! Allah un tamaam murhumeen ke ghar waloun ko saber jameel ada farmaye…

Oman National Day Celerated in Manipal by them. Omanis are good people. In spite of science and education they still maintain their traditional way of living in dress & behaviour. Indians - well respected in Oman. Their King, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said is worth for their & our full prise. He himself studied in India. He donated 3 places for the Churches - Rui, Gala etc. You will see Temple and Gurudwara in Oman. Tolerates other religions. He encourages eduction. Helps his people to come up.

It is said, he even advances full money to youth not much educated to buy taxi and earn but none was jailed when money was not returned. In the "Qaboos Mosque" (2nd biggest in Asia) built by him, he kept place for women enough for 700 of them for Namaz. Women are respected. Not suppressed.

I saw a golden plate on display in their musiam, donated by Goan people (sailors) to Majesty's father Thaimur. So long is Indian connection with Oman. Oman is ruled well. Adopted Bicameral System - Council of Oman (Majails Oman)=Parliament is of 89 seats. The constituion says ...Each member must be Omani, not less than 40 years of age, of good social standing and sound reputation and with appropriate practicle experience ...(compare our M.Ps ?). Omani Citizen above 21 years can vote. Above 31 yrs can stand for election. Oman got 39 Districts. One representative for 30,000 people. If it is 30,000 plus there shall be 2 representatives.
