"A historic step forward". Mr. Prime Minister, well its hisoric legally by reservation and mind you, reservation only. A quota in politics for women only or its all POLITICS. Empowerment, perhaps. Getting rid of discrimination, Not so, because all women are legitimate voters in India.Indian democracy, the largest democracy on earth works under quota system. A question ponders, is democracy supposed to work this way?

There is no question that women representation in politics is much lower, not only in India but around the world including the so called- developed nations.Question, is politics unattractive game for women. Perhaps, yes, given the nature of women. Politics is dirty game. Dirty not because it is hard work but because it is toungtwisting, arm twistering, hand shaking, back patting and so on, sometimes even forgoing the ethics, ,morals and principles of life. Its a power game, not for the sake of real power but because at times they are powerless given the nature of business of politics.

Men in politics are corrupt by nature and politics itself corrupt because in politics anything goes.
This is an opporunity for women to get rid of corruption because most women by nature tend to be less corrupt than men. Women can do wonders and women can do blunders. Just like managing a family. I wish all women success in politics but mind you that sucess will be at cost if one wants incur

What will happen to these god men, we can say "god only knows" or some may say that he will pay a price on "judgement day". I say that these concepts are man made and orchastrated by these god men themselves. Historically we have seen clairvoyants, god men and others playing dirty to gain control. Rasputin also comes to my mind. The main idea is to work on the minds of the comman man and control their lives.

If I think about it more in depth, we are harnessed right from our birth by these crooks in a world that we could have lived care free without any boundaries. But this is not meant to be. Religion is the biggest man made greed for control and power. With technology and education, this will all finally die and will end up being a dark age or as Hindu's say the kaliyug. Mankind will evolve out of this but until then we will go about supporting or fighting a belief that none of us are sure about.

Dear Kiran Rao, Indian constitution allows you to propagate and attract anyone to your religion with love. Nobody has the authority to stop you and vice versa. You know Kiran, people are being deprived from their basic rights like education, shelter and even to look at the (God’s) statue. People are served tea in coconut shell. People are made to jump down the narrow road when upper cast land lord or the one with right to serve in the temple passes through.

I am 55 years old and have seen all this in my child hood. I still respect all Hindus, because I know they are all good in their way of thinking. Only a handful tries creating unhealthy atmosphere in the society for their own benefit in controlling poor and downtrodden by depriving them from basic education. This is the reason they hate missionaries who involve in providing education and health care in the name of forcible conversion.

Rajesh Rao, Mangalore, Nice commnet by you. Since we are from upper caste we never felt the humilitiation and descrimination in the society in our country as we ruled it for thousands of years. And now we are very much concerned about conversion of our people to other religions. By the way what we do in other pats of the world as we too convert peolpe to our religion and to remind you all that conversion have been taking place regularly by us as well.

Unless we stop such religious frauds by us and this is also an act of cruelty to our GOD. And till now why we need devadasis in our temples. Do you think it is not our ignorance in the name of God as we practice a kind of prositituiton around our holi places. So please stop wreting comment like this and start work for the poor.
