Poem : Insomnia |
| by Faheem Jawaid, Saudi Arabia |

Insomnia
Written by Faheem Jawaid (Riyadh – Saudi Arabia)
It is 2:00 A.M. Blanketing the night --- The quietness sleeps, Catnapping trees, shiver with cold.
Hundreds of sonnets --- Cuddle, on the lips of silence, The eyelids of every thought are heavy.
The roads of the whole city --- Have forty winks, The lights, electrify with sleep.
The hotels and restaurants --- Are deserted, Churches, mosques, temples look lonely.
Everything and everybody, by now --- Might have slept, a sound sleep. Aaah! Why I am still awake?
One day, I too will be tired --- And, will sleep like a baby, In the lap of death.

| Expression of one's thoughts in a sensitive manner with high command over the literary language and technique - are required to write poetry. "Insomnia" has more than these qualities and Faheem Jawaid is certainly a great poet. Keep it up! |
