The Sweetest Sound I've Ever Heard
By Anita Britto, Auckland

The Sweetest Sound I've Ever Heard

I wake up to the sound of music every morn at 4:00
Cause Music energises me waking my inner core
And though I'd rather laze in bed at that unearthly hour
Music has an elevating resurrecting power

With an element of hope and faith as I begin my day
Connecting with a higher being who will show me the way
I listen to soul stirring stuff as I surrender all
Forging treasured memories with strong aural recall

Like an island in the stream with no one in between
I feel blessed by the presence of the one who is Unseen
He fills me with an inner peace when all is calm and still
It's kind of therapeutic while submitting to His will

And as the day progresses the music that I hear
Varies from my favourite so I play it just by ear
At times I go for Bee Gees, Elton John or Engelbert
Though when I want to see the rain it's always Rod Stewart

When the Carnival is over with a Stranger in the night
I’ll just call to say I love you even if you feel Up-tight
And I might say Something Stupid on a Long and Winding Road
While I’m Leaning on the lamp post till my feelings have plateaued

Though These boots are made for walking for A boy whose name is Sue
I love to wear those Blue suede shoes for I’m still Stuck on you
Cause you’re the Angel of the Morning who is Gentle on my mind
Despite The Dangling conversation I admit that Love is blind

When I long for palm-fringed beaches I just go Calypso Joe
If only you could read my mind - "lo mucho que te quiero”
And when Romance is in the air You say nothing at all
Though Annie’s song is also nice like Lucky Lips or Living Doll

Be it the Arias of Mozart that speak straight to my soul
Or stuff that makes me tap my feet like funky Rock and Roll
Music has this magic like a mothers soothing skin
It makes you feel so snug and safe, content and calm within

When lilting lyrics beckon all I want is Good Old Bread
Taking Stairways straight to Heaven with I guess some Zeppy Led
Though sometimes I do miss some folk who’re far away in Heav’n
And don’t know how to deal with it though I am forty seven

I turn to sounds of comfort which always help and heal
And try to hide those tears away and show my nerves of steel
I close my eyes and travel time to sounds that I have heard
Which made my mind go racing while my insides were all stirred

Tiny fragile helpless - the sound lit up my world
In amniotic fluid while I lay floating and swirled
I stretched once more to hear this sound – this mellifluous beat
A sound like this I’ve never heard – so rhythmic and sweet

The sound that said I’ll live for you and hold your hand through out
Even when I'm far away – so never fear or doubt
The first sound that I ever heard – that sounded like no other
The nicest sound you’ll ever hear – the heart beat of your mother.

Dear Anitha, Dear R. Bhandarkar, (Heart and Soul)

Anitha's journey typically emphasizes mid-fifties wisdom whilst Ram's journey is ageless and spellbound.
So refreshing and my Hats off to both of you.

Dear Anitha
The 'Journey Inside' really has been littered with 'experiences outside', no doubt essential to be mature and be in 'tune' with the times!.The search of it all has to 'end' from where you started off in the first place-As a toddler and where you found 'warmth' first! You have stopped at the 'heart beat' of the motherthe Journey
is yet to be completed and it is in the 'womb'where heavenly sounds echo !This is the 'coziest' place to be in! Know what?Man once if he gets out of the 'womb' is so restless -For he's always seeking a place of such 'warmth and coziness' throughoutIt's a 'futile search' no doubt because for starters he does not even know that it is 'this' he is seeking! This realisation is felt only the blessed!Remember the Lord's saying- 'Be innocent' like a child to enter the 'Kingdom of God'!
Nice Journey-Thank YOU!
