I'm No Different than You

I have a heart that beats like yours
Ten fingers and ten toes
I have a mind that thinks like yours
And feels joy and sorrow too

I'm no different than you ...

I breathe the same air
Walk the same path
Eat, sleep and
Talk just like you do

I'm no different than you ...

I care and worry
Nurture and love
I achieve things and at times ...
suffer hardships like you

I'm no different than you ...

Why then do you think I don't deserve a chance?
Why am I considered worthless?
Why do you believe I don't deserve to live ...
and give me death when I'm hapless?

I'm definitely no different than you!

I too yearn for a life someday
Belong to a family, make friends and play
Grow up, fall in love and have a child or two
Have a wonderful life just like you would too

Then ...

How am I different from you?!

You say I'm a burden
You don't want me no more
You want boys you pray
for to raise girls is a chore

But I'll tell you something you probably never knew
I cry when I hear you discuss my fate
I want to tell you that I'd always love you
To just give me a chance before it's too late

And then just like that
you decide to end my life
When I am unable to speak
And being murdered with a knife

You think I don't feel a thing
for you can't see me suffer
I scream and struggle, I'm helpless ...
As inside you I'm going through torture

I wanted to show you how much I'd care for you
Love and look after you when you're old too
I wanted you to see that I'd not be a burden
Do just as much as your son would do

But alas, you've already made up your mind
I'm trapped and there's nothing I can do
as the monster crushes me ripping me to pieces
The pain you've caused me ... you have no clue!

You were lucky you were nurtured
when in your mother's womb
You're blessed you were given life
While I now lay in a tomb

I am now in a dumpster 
with other girls like me
Whose parents believed the same as you
And did to them what you did to me

Now though my heart no longer beats
I can't hear, breathe or feel a thing too
I do forgive you however, for what you did
For maybe I AM far different than you...
